I am originally from San Francisco, but have called Los Angeles, California my home for close to a decade now.  About 15 years ago, I decided that it was time to make some serious changes to my life.

I was eating the standard American diet, not paying much attention to what I ate, and wasn’t exercising at all.  My energy levels were at an all-time low, my sleeping patterns were off, and I just wasn’t that excited about life in general.

I knew something had to change, and I began to focus on eating healthier and increasing my physical activity.  To my pleasant surprise, my life started to quickly change…and pretty drastically!  My mood improved, my energy levels shot through the roof, and I was feeling better than I ever had.  In fact, I went from sitting on the couch to walking, then jogging, then running, then to racing in triathlons before I knew it!

I was so blown away by how different my life had become that I enrolled back into college and started to pursue my master’s degree in nutritional science and registered dietitian credential.  I felt like I just had to share this knowledge with the rest of the world and help people to feel their best!

Having made a dramatic transformation with my own diet and physical activity level, I completely understand the challenges and pitfalls,  and can help you overcome them to reach every one of your wellness goals.

As a personal trainer, I am certified by the highly acclaimed National Academy of Sports Medicine.   I have many years of experience with physical fitness in both team and individual sports including ice hockey, tennis, cross country, and triathlon.  I love the outdoors and on any given day can be found mountain biking, surfing, skateboarding, in-line skating, or hiking around the Los Angeles area.

I have also worked in a number of eating disorder and addiction treatment centers in Southern California counseling clients, teaching groups, and developing curriculum.  I love working with that population and have been involved in a variety of research projects over the years.  In 2018, I was asked to travel to Asia as a consultant to several treatment centers to develop a brand new program to help treat drug and alcohol addiction with proper nutrition.

I love working with clients, whether it’s cooking together, doing something physical, grocery shopping, or helping them overcome certain fears about food.  It is so rewarding to see the light come on in someone and watch their life start to change.  I am so grateful that so many people have asked me to be there with them as they rewrite their story.

I hope that I have the chance to help you in the future!

I’ve been in LA for over 15 years, and I hope to never leave. I love the talented people and the creative energy. I understand what it’s like to have a limited amount of time for extra things – my three-year-old is crazy! Creating efficient ways to integrate wellness activities is crucial to success.

While pursuing my master’s degree and spending a year doing rotations in hospitals and clinics, I focused on behavior modification therapy and the science behind how we can reshape our lifestyle one step at a time. Extremes are not sustainable. I would love to help you create more moderate solutions that work in real life.

Cooking with my clients is one of my most favorite things to do. It doesn’t have to be fancy to be delicious! I also love productive meditation and lean strength training.

I’m not the most naturally athletic person, but I love to be active. Playing outdoors stimulates a different part of my brain and releases tons of endorphins - helping me to disconnect from technology and relieve stress. My favorite things to do with my clients are hiking, boogie boarding, rollerblading, dance cardio, and biking.

I have helped many clients lose more than fifty pounds each, and multiple clients have lost over 100 pounds with my help. These transformations didn’t happen overnight, but slow and steady means the weight loss is permanent. Imagine having someone that was truly dedicated to your goals, no matter what it took.

I love goal setting with my clients. Creating goals that are attainable even when you’re having a hard week builds confidence and leads to amazing results. Success breeds more success.

I have a straight-to-the-point way about me, but not like a drill sergeant. If you’re looking for someone super strict, that’s not me. I am clear and direct but you’re always in the driver’s seat – being told what to do by someone else will ultimately create rebellious feelings, and that is counterproductive.

I know reaching out can be hard, but I promise we will have a lot of fun together while we work towards your transformation. Set up a call and let’s talk about your goals :)
